Time to Snack on Some Nails...
I got the results of my gestational diabetes test today- everything is fine! But I am low on iron, so I guess I need to eat more nails. Or #10 drywall screws, those are probably tasty too. :)
I have my next ultrasound on Thursday of next week, I'll post pictures then!

Flying Pigs Spotted Over Southeast Virginia...
My dissertation proposal has finally been approved. Yay! Of course, with quite a few revisions, but at least it has officially passed. Now I just have to submitted to the Institutional Review Board on campus (which can take up to two weeks) and I get to collect data. Finally!
In baby news, I had my 27 week appointment today- I'm officially in the third trimester! 11 more weeks til I'm officially full term. Everything is fine- my fundal height (belly height) is measuring right about on target and I'm fine with the weight gain part. I still have sore legs by the end of the day and my asthma is still sending me into coughing fits on a regular basis, but hey, I can still shave my legs, so life can't be all that bad (Note: I never said I did shave my legs, just that I can).
I also got the new car this week (yesterday). It's HUGE. Well, it's pretty much the smallest SUV out there, but when you're used to a Mini Cooper, it's huge! I drove it today, but will probably still drive my car the majority of the time. It'll be nice, though, if I pick up something big from Babies R Us that won't fit in the Mini (yes, that is a decent size list). It's all yucky and rainy outside, but when it's nicer out, I might take some pictures and post. (Really, if you've seen one Escape, you've seen them all.)

And as I've been writing, I've gotten an email from Dad with pictures of the crib! It's almost done- just needs sanding and staining!

Steve Christie, Look Out!
Spawn's doing more and more kicking- I've actually felt it from the outside, but only once or twice. Last night, he actually pushed my hand off my belly! Look out, Steve Christie! For those who are not up-to-date on famous Tribe alum, Steve Christie is a fellow William and Mary alum, who went on the be a placekicker for the Buffalo Bills-and scored one of the longest field goals in Super Bowl history. (Yes, I had to use wikipedia for that last part. And to know that the correct term is placekicker, not kicker-dude, which is what I had at first).
Other than that, I have an ultrasound on March 26 for a last round of pictures to send out to DaddyMonkey (and maybe so I can see him again too). My next doctor's appointment is St. Patrick's Day, but at this point they're very quick and routine (well, quick once I finally get seen). I think I'll be moving to every two weeks for appointments soon- on March 17, I'll be 27 weeks.
The shower date is set for May 16th, (my former graduation weekend, sigh) and I have another 3D ultrasound scheduled for that day for any out-of-town guests who want to come hang out. (this will also be Russ' first ultrasound experience!) I had a grand ol' time registering at Babies R Us and amazon.com, but I still go back and change it all the time!
Speaking of Russ, he is no longer in Jordan, but back in Bahrain for a few days. He hasn't sent me any of the pictures from Jordan, but when he does, I'll post them. Next week he is off to Kuwait for pretty much the remainder of March. Then in one more month (ish) he'll be home!
